One cobot is used for loading and unloading for four laser cutting machines at the same time. The four cutting machines are placed in pairs, and a 7-axis guide rail is used in the middle to realize the motion of the cobot between the machines for picking and placing materials. A vision camera can be integrated to the cobot to realize the positioning for picking and placing products as the required unloading precision of the laser cutting machine is about 0.1 mm.

The overall scheme, compact in layout, requires smaller space with simple equipment layout, so there is no need to do great changes to the original plant.
It is easy to operate cobots. Customers can switch products or debug new products by themselves after simple training, which greatly reduces the cost of changeover.
One person can watch multiple laser cutting machines at the same time, and only needs to feed regularly. In contrast, each device used to have one person to load and unload under stand-alone operation.
